Reading Comprehension Plus Writing
Spelling Games
In this class we will read 3 short stories together on either a science or history topic, including discussion. Five comprehension questions will be answered after each story. Then we will write a 1-2 paragraph essay together in class.
Handwriting
In my cursive writing class, students will learn each letter of the alphabet 3-4 letters per week. Then practice writing with full complete sentences. Cursive handwriting is a lost art, I believe it is necessary skill for students and something that is important to their development.
Vocabulary Games
In this class students will participate in some online interactive games practicing a new list of vocabulary words and their definitions. These games are geared to help students learn how to use words in the right context.
​In this class students will learn a list of words, reading, writing, and spelling. We will play spelling games at the end of class. These games are online games to help students as well to practice and get better with their spelling.
Phonics Games
In my phonic classes, we work through a series that goes through each letter sound and letter combination sounds. These classes are for grades K-3 only.
Learning to Type
In this class students will learn the beginning keystrokes all the way up to numbers and symbols. Speed and accuracy are also taught and practiced in this class.
